Texas Text 'em is a full Texas Hold 'em game designed for Slack. It runs as a bot which you communicate with privately, so no one else can see your cards.
The game was designed as a way of being able to play poker with friends and colleagues on an ongoing basis. The idea was to have long turn times so people could play at work and when out-and-about without interrupting what they were up to. Sort of like postal chess but a little faster.
We allowed the game into our workplace and it was a great success. The long turn times allowed our international team members to participate and helped them feel even closer to the team. It also proved to be a great success for informal team building.
Most importantly, the game proved to be a lot of fun and now we want to share it with the world, try it yourself today!
Texas Text 'em support side pots, split pots, and all game scenarios. Players get a starting balance and can rebuy or top-up if needed. Use 'status' to find out the game situation at any time.
By adding the game to Slack, you can install the game with just 2 clicks. Once you're in, register yourself as a player and ask up to 8 of your colleagues to join. They can join and leave the game as much as they like.
Show your cards after the hand, chat for banter, and have fun outsmarting your colleagues. This game has been played for over 5 months now in beta and the original games are going strong!
Hands are dealt by
random.org using atmospheric noise for a truly fair deal. This means that if you get a series of bad hand or someone sucks out on you you can "blame the universe".
If you install the game, there is a 7 day free trial. After that we ask for a $5 AUD/month fee to keep playing ($3.80 USD). You can subscribe at
