Sr. Social Marketing Manager

We’re establishing a team to nurture and scale the Slack brand and are looking for a Sr. Social Marketing Manager to shape our global social strategy and develop and implement programs aimed to deepen our engagement with and grow our online communities.

To succeed, you will help bring the Slack brand to life through our unique voice and tone, and inspire company-wide contributors to develop creative ways to activate our audience. The role is highly visible within the organization and requires collaboration across functions like: Corporate Communications, Customer Experience, Research & Analytics, Product, and Marketing. You will be the key point of contact for high-level stakeholders, external agencies, and partners, and report to the Director of Brand Marketing.

What you will be doing

  • You will develop a global social strategy across Slack channels that aligns with our key business and marketing objectives
  • Own both paid and organic social-first programs end-to-end, including: draft inspiring briefs, engage in ideation process, lead GTM program planning, implementation, optimization, analyze results, and apply findings to the next program
  • You will build and implement Slack brand social guidelines including: best practices by channel, a publishing process and a moderation guide in accordance with our company policies
  • Define objectives and key performance metrics for social efforts, track performance, report efficacy, and recommend improvements
  • Build strong relationships with key cross-org partners (Customer Experience, Corp Communications) to develop an editorial calendar that cultivates conversations across all social channels
  • Through positive relationships with key cross-org partners, be the bridge that weaves together threads of a story across multiple platforms to raise awareness of Slack, and support product releases, marketing initiatives, and company news.
  • You will make key day-to-day decisions on social content development that deliver on the overarching strategy and Slack brand guidelines
  • Build a plan for scaling engagement in key global markets
  • Partner with account leads at prominent social platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook & Instagram, and YouTube, to identify new activation opportunities
  • You understand the pulse of the social landscape and identify insights and opportunities to help keep Slack at the forefront of digital engagement

What you should have

  • You have 5-8 years of experience independently leading social marketing programs that drive business results
  • Consistent track record of creating innovative story-telling and engagement approaches for a global audience
  • You have the ability to effectively communicate and build trust with senior executives and drive alignment with cross-functional teams
  • Extensive knowledge of the social landscape with a passion for creating fresh ideas
  • You are able to prioritize, adapt, and multi-task without compromising attention to detail
  • As comfortable developing high-level strategies as leading tactical execution
  • You are comfortable with an iterative, test and learn approach
  • Experience leading creative and media agencies, and partnering with internal creative teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
