Software Engineer, Customer Experience

As a Software Engineer on the Customer Experience Products Engineering team, you’ll be building the products and tools that ensure our 10 million daily active users have an effortless experience and get the most out of Slack.

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with your team to tackle difficult and ambiguous problems.
  • Write, debug, and deploy frontend and backend code using a variety of programming languages and frameworks including Hack, JavaScript and React.
  • Complete projects from start to finish, including time estimations, development, testing, documentation, and deployment.
  • Utilize your strong knowledge of coding conventions to mentor and hold other members of the team accountable.
  • Participate and contribute in stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives at the team level and up.
  • Work collaboratively across other engineering organizations to ensure standard methodologies and processes are followed.

What you should have:

  • Empathy for customers and their experience using the product.
  • Ability to give timely, concise, effective feedback to teammates and peers.
  • Computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
  • Ability to leverage your technical expertise to solve problems for our customers.
  • Curiosity about the latest technologies and trends.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills.
  • Exceptional written skills with a knack for user documentation.
  • Self-­awareness and a desire to continually improve.
