Manage Slack Connect discoverability for your organization

Slack Connect allows people across organizations to search for each other by email address and connect in Slack. Owners and admins can manage Slack Connect discoverability for their organization.

Note: If Slack Connect discoverability is enabled for your organization, no personal or workspace information will be shared with external people. Members can also set their own discoverability preference.

Manage discoverability for your organization 

Free, Pro, and Business+ plans

Enterprise Grid plan

Workspace Owners and Admins can enable or disable Slack Connect discoverability for their workspace.

  1. Click your workspace name in the sidebar.
  2. Hover over Tools & settings, then click Workspace settings.
  3. Click the Permissions tab.
  4. Next to Slack Connect Discoverability, click Expand.
  5. Select Anyone with their email address to enable discoverability, or No one to disable it.
  6. Click Save.

Org Owners can enable or disable Slack Connect discoverability for their organization.

  1. Click your organization name in the sidebar.
  2. Hover over Tools & settings, then click Organization settings.
  3. Click  Slack Connect in the sidebar, then select Settings.
  4. Next to External discoverability, select Edit.
  5. Use the toggle to enable or disable external discoverability.
  6. Click Save.
