Manage how people join your workspace

People need an invitation to join a Slack workspace by default. Workspace owners can approve certain email domains so anyone with an approved email address can easily verify their address to create a Slack account.

Note: Enabling single sign-on (SSO) will override your workspace sign-up preferences.

Set your workspace sign-up mode

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. Select Administration from the menu, then click Workspace settings.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Next to Joining this workspace, click Expand.
  5. Choose how people can join your workspace. If you select Invitations and approved domains, add approved email domains in the text box.
  6. Click Save. Anyone with an approved email address can join by clicking your workspace’s sign-up link.

Note: If a member of your workspace requests an invitation for someone with an approved email address, their request will be approved automatically.
