Block jailbroken or rooted devices on Enterprise Grid

To keep org data secure, Org Owners on the Enterprise Grid plan can prevent members from accessing Slack from jailbroken iOS and rooted Android devices. When this setting is enabled, members will be blocked from accessing any workspaces in their org if their device appears to be jailbroken or rooted.*

Tip: Visit Mobile security on Enterprise Grid to learn more about Slack’s security options for managed and unmanaged mobile devices.

What members can expect

With this setting enabled, members may be blocked when they attempt to sign in or the next time Slack checks for jailbroken or rooted devices:

  • Members using single sign-on from jailbroken or rooted devices will be blocked when signing in to Slack.
  • Members signing in from jailbroken or rooted devices with their email address and password may be able to access Slack, but will be signed out the next time Slack checks for jailbroken or rooted devices.
  • Members signing in from jailbroken or rooted devices in their browser will be able to successfully sign in to Slack, but will be signed out the next time Slack checks for jailbroken or rooted devices.
