Users can submit a data deletion request either by email to email@example.com or by texting a request to +1-855-815-7570.
Once a request is received, here are the steps we follow:
1. Validate the user’s identity
2. Validate that the user owns the email or phone number in question with which the data is associated. If contact is made on behalf of a business, validate the the request is made by an authorized business representative.
3. Locate the data in question in our internal systems (database query)
4. Erase the data.
5. Document the request, steps taken, and erasure.
While this app may offer HIPAA compliance, Slack does not have a business associate agreement with any third-party application providers, including those in the Slack App Directory, so you are responsible for validating the provider's compliance and executing an appropriate agreement before enabling.
