Data retention policy
Data is kept for the lifetime that one or more users in a team are a customer of Categorly. All data related to a team is removed 30 days after the final customer stops using the service.
Data archiving and removal policy
Individual users may request their data to be removed by using the "Contact Us" button on the Categorly Slack Home Tab. Requests for data removal will be completed within 7 days.
When data is removed, either from a user request or from the end of the retention period as defined int he retention policy, it is permanently removed from the Categorly database as well as all data backups.
Data storage policy
Production Categorly data is stored on AWS in RDS and AWS ElastiCache and access is limited with Security Groups to machines that need read and write access to the data. All data is encrypted at rest using native AWS at-rest encryption. In addition, customer data is encrypted in-flight after it is received from Slack, before it is persisted, using AES 256 encryption and decryption can only occur during processing to send content to a user's Slack.
