Privacy & data governance
Data retention policy
Data necessary for app functionality is stored as long as the OpenCultureBot remains installed in the customer's Slack workspace. The app only retains data directly supplied through interactions with OpenCultureBot and does not listen to or store any other customer data.
Data archiving and removal policy
After uninstalling OpenCultureBot, all data is automatically deleted within 14 days. For earlier deletion, customers can submit a request to support@openculturebot.com. Certain data may be retained if required by law.
Data storage policy
All data is stored in accordance with the privacy policy available at https://www.openculturebot.com/privacy-policy. OpenCultureBot implements appropriate security measures to protect customer data. Stored data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

LLM retention settings
Google securely may retain API inputs and outputs in it's data-centers for up to 30 days for service provision and abuse prevention. After 30 days, data is removed, unless they're legally obligated to.
LLM data tenancy policy
Questions submitted by users via our app are optionally processed through Google's Gemini 2.5 Pro API for automatic moderation. Data is handled on OpenAI's cloud infrastructure during moderation checks.
LLM data residency policy
During processing, data temporarily resides in Google Cloud's EU based data-centers in Eemshaven, Netherlands. Data storage follows Google's standard security protocols and handling practices.

Data deletion request procedure
OpenCulture doesn't store any personal identifiable information. If customers stop using OpenCulture app and want us to remove non-personal data (e.g. channel configurations, submitted questions metadata), we can do this upon a request sent to support@openculturebot.com within 2 weeks after receiving the request - unless any law prohibits us from doing so.
