Data deletion request procedure
At AsciiBot, we are committed to respecting user rights and ensuring a clear process for handling data deletion requests:
Request Submission: Users can submit data deletion requests by contacting us at support@asciibot.com. The request should include sufficient information to identify the user and their associated data (e.g., email address or account ID).
Verification: Upon receiving a request, we verify the identity of the requester to ensure they are authorized to request deletion of the data. This may involve confirming account ownership through email verification or other secure methods.
Assessment: We assess the request to determine whether it complies with legal and operational requirements. Certain data may need to be retained to fulfill obligations such as regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, or fraud prevention.
Data Deletion: If the request is approved, we delete the user's data from active databases and systems. Archived or backup copies are securely deleted within a reasonable timeframe, in line with our data retention and archival policy.
Confirmation: Once the deletion process is complete, we notify the user and provide confirmation of the action taken.
Recordkeeping: We maintain a log of the request and its resolution for audit and compliance purposes, without retaining the deleted data.
