数据留存政策
We perform a backup of the whole system every 6 hours and stored in a separate region. We keep backup records for up to 30 days.

Once a workspace is deactivated, all data is removed after 30 days. From there it will take another 30 days to be removed from our backup systems. So from deactivation to complete removal there is a approximately 60 days.

Data is logically segregated. Every customer has its own unique domain (acme.workast.io) and data is always stored using the team (acme) as a primary key and identifier. When users authenticate to our system, the token that they use to interact with our API has this information embedded and encrypted using AWS KMS

Individuals: a user can deactivate their account on their own by visiting their preferences in Workast. After that the user can request data deletion at support@workast.com and we will need the confirmation from an admin of the workspace as this will affect the data integrity Workspaces: at any time an admin can request the whole workspace to be deleted. We will ask first for the Slack integration to be removed, and after that we can schedule a data removal. Once the data is removed it will stay in our backup system for an extra 30 days.
