Message activity allows you to see how many people have interacted with a given message in Slack. By default, message activity is enabled for your organisation, but owners and admins can choose to disable the feature or manage who has permission to use it.
Enable or disable message activity

Workspace owners and workspace admins can enable or disable message activity for their workspace:
From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
Click Settings & administration, then select Workspace settings.
Click the Permissions tab.
Next to Message activity, click Expand.
Tick or untick the box next to Enable message activity.
Click on Save.
Org owners and org admins can enable or disable message activity for their organisation:
From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
Select Settings & administration, then click Organisation settings from the menu.
Click Settings in the left sidebar, then select Organisation settings.
Click Disable or Enable next to Message activity, then confirm your selection.
Manage permissions for message activity

When message activity is enabled, only workspace owners and workspace admins can use it. They can choose to grant this permission to certain members as well:
From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
Click Settings & administration, then select Workspace settings.
Click the Permissions tab.
Next to Message activity, click Expand.
Select who can view message activity.
Click Save.
When message activity is enabled, only org owners and org admins can use it. They can choose to grant this permission to certain members as well:

Click Settings in the left sidebar, then select Organisation settings.
