Giphy for Slack

The Giphy app lets you search a library of animated GIFs and send them in Slack. Once Giphy is installed on your workspace, any member can post GIFs in conversations from the shortcuts menu.

Tip: Add a GIF to your messages directly from the message field with Slack’s built-in GIF picker. No app required!

Add the Giphy app to Slack

  1. Visit the Giphy app page in the Slack App Directory.
  2. Click Add to Slack.
  3. Click on Add Giphy Integration.

Send a GIF

Note: Common words and phrases can return unexpected results. Use with care!

  1. From a conversation, click the  slash icon next to the message field.
  2. Search for Find and share a GIF, then press Enter to select it.
  3. Type a word or phrase in the text field, then click Search.
  4. Click Shuffle to view more options, then select Share to post your GIF.
