Manage channels shared with external organisations

By default, workspace owners and workspace admins on the Standard and Plus subscriptions, and org owners and org admins on the Enterprise Grid subscription, can manage shared channels. If they like, they can also give members this permission. Here’s what managing shared channels allows you to do:

*Channels shared before 24th June 2020 are limited to two organisations by default. Someone from the invited organisation with permission to manage shared channels must allow additional organisations to join.

Manage requests to share a channel

After an invitation to share a channel has been accepted, it must be approved by someone from the organisation that owns the channel. If the member who accepted the invitation doesn’t have permission to manage shared channels, the request must also be approved by someone from the invited organisation who does.

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. Select Settings & administration from the menu.
  3. Click Manage shared channels.
  4. Click the Requests tab on the left.
  5. Select Approve or Deny next to the channel names.

Note: An invitation to share a channel will expire if it's not accepted and approved within seven days. Expired invitations will display below pending requests.
