Sign members out of your Enterprise Grid organisation

Who can use this feature?
  • Org Owners and Org Admins
  • Available on the Enterprise Grid subscription

In the event that a member’s device gets lost or stolen, org owners and admins can remotely sign the member out of Slack to keep their org secure. Org owners and admins can choose to sign a member out of Slack on their mobile app and browser sessions, desktop app and browser sessions or both. Here’s how:

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. Select Administration from the menu, then Organisation settings.
  3. Click People in the left-hand sidebar.
  4. Click Members, then search for the member you’d like to sign out.
  5. Hover over the member’s name and click the   three dots icon that appears.
  6. Select Sign out of Slack.
  7. Choose whether you’d like to sign this member out of Slack on their mobile device, their desktop or both.
  8. Click Confirm.

Note: Org owners and org admins will not be able to sign out the org’s primary owner.

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. Select Settings & administration, then Organisation settings.
  3. Click People in the left-hand sidebar.
  4. Click Members, then search for the member you’d like to sign out.
  5. Hover over the member’s name and click the   three dots icon.
  6. Select Sign out of Slack.
  7. Choose whether you’d like to sign this member out of the Slack mobile or desktop app, or both apps.
  8. Click Confirm.

Note: Org owners and org admins cannot sign the org's primary owner out of Slack.
