Require a mobile passcode on Enterprise Grid In an Enterprise Grid organisation, org owners can require all members who access Slack from unmanaged mobile devices to use a passcode, fingerprint or facial scan after a set amount of time away from the Slack mobile app. With this setting enabled, org owners can further secure unmanaged mobile devices by limiting how much information displays in Slack mobile notifications.
What to expect
Once a passcode is required for your org, members with unmanaged devices will be prompted to enter a six-digit passcode the next time they open the Slack mobile app.
Members with compatible devices will have the option to set up a fingerprint or facial scan to sign in to the Slack mobile app.
As part of requiring a passcode, org owners can choose how mobile notifications will appear on members' unmanaged mobile devices:
Don’t show any message content Only show sender names
Show all message content
Note: To use this feature, iOS users must update their Slack app to version 19.07.30 or above. Android users need to use version 19.07.31 or above .
Enable secondary authentication
From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
Select Settings & administration from the menu, then click Organisation settings .
Click on Security in the left column, then choose Security settings .
Under Mobile passcode , click on Enable .
Use the drop-down menu to choose how long after being away from the mobile app members must re-authenticate.
Below Notification previews , select an option.
Click Enable .
