Require a mobile passcode or biometric authentication on Enterprise Grid
On an Enterprise Grid org, Org Owners can require all members who access Slack from an unmanaged mobile device to use secondary authentication. This setting requires members to enter a passcode or use biometric authentication (i.e., a fingerprint or facial scan) after a set amount of time away from the Slack app for iOS or Android.
From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
Select Administration from the menu, then Organisation settings.
Click Security in the left-side column, then choose Security Settings.
Under Mobile Passcode, tick the box next to Required for unmanaged mobile devices.
Use the drop-down menu to choose how long after being away from the mobile app members must authenticate.
Click Save changes.
What to expect
Once you’ve enabled secondary authentication, all members will be prompted to enter a six-digit passcode the next time they open the Slack mobile app. Members with compatible devices will also have the option to set up biometric authentication (such as a fingerprint or facial scan). Once setup is complete, the Slack app will load and members will be able to access the Enterprise Grid org.
