Manage canvas settings on Enterprise Grid

Org owners and Org admins can manage which members in their Enterprise Grid organisation can access canvas version history, and who can create and share custom canvas templates.

 

Manage canvas version history

Anyone with permission to edit a canvas can access its revision history and restore a previous version. If you’d like, you can disable canvas version history so that only the most recent version is available.


Enable or disable canvas version history

  1. From your desktop, click your organisation name in the sidebar.
  2. Select Tools & settings from the menu, then click Organisation settings.
  3. Click on   Settings in the left sidebar, then select Organisation Settings.
  4. Next to Canvases, click Edit.
  5. Tick or untick Show canvas version history and allow restoration, then click on Save.

 

Manage custom canvas template permissions

Templates created by members of your org can be kept private for personal use or shared with specific members or channels. Certain members of your org can also publish templates to the Created by your organisation section of the template gallery.


Choose who can create canvas templates

Everyone (except guests) can create and share canvas templates, but you can restrict this permission if you’d like.

  1. From your desktop, click your organisation name in the sidebar.
  2. Select Tools & settings, then click Organisation Settings.
  3. Click on   People, then select Manage permissions.
  4. Click Account types.
  5. Click on the   three dots icon next to Create canvas templates, then select Edit permission.
  6. Choose who can create canvas templates.
  7. Click on Save.


Choose who can publish templates to the template gallery

By default, Org owners and admins and Workspace owners and admins can publish templates to the Created by your organisation section of the template gallery. To restrict this to only org owners and org admins, follow the steps below:

  1. From your desktop, click your organisation name in the sidebar.
  2. Select Tools & settings, then click Organisation Settings.
  3. Click on   People, then select Manage permissions.
  4. Click Account types.
  5. Click on the   three dots icon next to Publish org-wide canvas templates, then select Edit permission.
  6. Choose who can publish org-wide canvas templates.
  7. Click on Save.

 

Assign canvas admins

By default, only owners and admins in your organisation can publish templates to the Created by your organisation section of the template gallery. To allow other members of your organisation to publish templates to the Created by your organisation section, you can assign them to the canvas admin system role.

Note: An owner, admin or canvas admin will also need to have Can edit access to the template to unpublish it from the template gallery.
