Manage shared channels on Enterprise Grid

On an Enterprise Grid org, Org Owners and Org Admins can manage shared channels and set related permissions for all workspaces in their org.

Decide who can share channels

By default, any Org Owner or Org Admin can create shared channels and manage them. They can also choose who else in their org can create, edit, disconnect, or archive shared channels. Use the steps below to set this permission:

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. Select Administration, then Organization settings from the menu.
  3. From the Admin Dashboard, click Settings. 
  4. Select Channel Administration.
  5. Locate Who can share channels with external organizations? and select an option.


View all shared channels

Org Owners and Admins (and others with permission to share channels) can view all shared channels and which external organizations they're shared with:

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. Select Administration, then Organization settings from the menu to open the Admin Dashboard.
  3. Below Organization on the left, click External sharing.


Manage invitation settings

Org Owners and Org Admins can decide whether or not to allow shared channel invitations from external organizations. 

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. Select Administration, then Organization settings from the menu.
  3. From the Admin Dashboard, click Settings.
  4. Select Channel Administration.
  5. Check or uncheck the box below In-bound shared channel invitations.

Stop sharing channels

Org Owners and Org Admins (and those with permission to create shared channels) can stop sharing channels at any time. Here are the two options:
