Allow additional organizations to join a channel you're sharing
Channels shared with Slack Connect before June 24, 2020 are limited to two organizations by default. To add other external partners, someone from the invited organization must allow the channel to be shared further. The organization that owns the channel can then invite other organizations to join it.
Tip:To check which organization owns the channel and which organization was invited, open the channel, click the details icon, and select Organizations.
Let additional organizations join a channel
From your desktop, open the channel you'd like to allow additional organizations to join.
Click the details icon in the top right.
Click Organizations.
Select Share Channel.
Check the box next to Let additional organizations join this channel.
Click Done.
Anyone with permission to manage shared channels from the organization that owns the channel will be notified if you allow additional organizations to join it. They'll receive a DM from Slackbot to let them know they can invite additional organizations to join the channel.
Note:Book a free 20 minute call with a Slack expert to help you get started working with your external partners in Slack.
