Looking to upgrade from the free version of Slack to a paid subscription? That's great news! You'll be one step closer to accessing more Slack features and removing message, file storage and app limits. We've outlined everything that you need to know to upgrade your workspace below.
Note: If you upgrade your workspace at the end of the month, your next renewal will occur on the first of the following month or year (depending on whether you select a monthly or annual payment schedule).
Upgrade a workspace
By default, any member can upgrade a free workspace to a paid subscription, but workspace owners can restrict this. Workspace owners (or the person who upgrades a workspace) can manage payment and subscription details from the Billing page.

At the time that you upgrade, you'll be billed for the number of active users in your workspace. To learn more, review our Fair billing policy. When you're ready to upgrade, use the steps below:
Below the subscription name in the top right, choose a payment schedule.
Add your company information.
Select the Pay by card tab, then enter your credit card information.
Click Review order, then Purchase to confirm.
Note: We accept American Express, Mastercard and Visa credit cards. It's not currently possible to pay for Slack with JCB.
Note: Customers in the European Union paying by credit card may be required to use two-factor authentication during checkout. Learn more about strong customer authentication.
To upgrade and pay by self-serve invoice, you must select an annual payment schedule and meet certain workspace requirements. Slack's bank details will be listed on your invoice, and payment is due within 30 days via ACH, check or bank transfer.
