Manage multi-workspace channels on Enterprise Grid

Org Owners and Org Admins can decide who can manage multi-workspace channels within an Enterprise Grid organization. Members with this permission can add channels to other workspaces in the org and modify who can post in them.


Set multi-workspace channel permissions

Org Owners and Org Admins can set permissions for multi-workspace channels.

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the sidebar.
  2. Hover over Tools & settings, then select Organization settings.
  3. Choose  People, then select Manage permissions.
  4. Select Account Types.
  5. Click the   three dots icon next to the permission you'd like to adjust, then select Edit permission.
  6. Choose who can create new multi-workspace channels. 
  7. Click Save

Note: Both Org and Workspace Owners and Admins can change a multi-workspace channel from public to private.


Choose who can post in multi-workspace channels

If you have permission to modify multi-workspace channels, you can decide who can post in them.

  1. From your desktop, open a channel.
  2. Click the channel name in the conversation header.

  3. Select the Settings tab.
  4. Next to Posting permissions, click Edit
  5. Choose who can post and if you want to allow message threads.
  6. Click Save Changes.
