Invite new members to your workspace
A Slack workspace is made up of channels where people can communicate and work together. Whether your Slack workspace is brand new or it's been around for a while, read on to learn how to invite your teammates to Slack.
Tip: If you're looking to add someone to a channel in your workspace, find out how in Add people to a channel.
Workspace invitation permissions
Your ability to invite other people to your workspace depends on your role in Slack and your workspace settings:
- Workspace owners and workspace admins can invite members and guests (if their workspace is on one of Slack's paid subscriptions).
- By default, workspace members can invite other members. If an owner or admin has restricted members from sending invitations, they can request invitations instead.
- Guests cannot send or request invitations.
Note: Workspace owners can approve certain email domains so that anyone with an approved email can join their workspace automatically.

Invitation limits
In certain circumstances, Slack may limit your ability to send invitations. This typically happens if you’ve sent many invites, but few have been accepted.
If you hit an invite limit, all of your pending invitations will remain valid. Please note that revoking pending invitations will not lift an invitation limit.
To avoid hitting an invitation limit, create an invitation link (or ask your workspace owner or admin to do so) and share it with anyone that you want to join your workspace.
