Manage how people join your workspace

By default, people need an invitation to join a Slack workspace. Workspace Owners and Admins can approve certain email domains so anyone with an approved email address can easily verify their email to create a Slack account.

Note: Enabling single sign-on (SSO) will override your workspace signup preferences.

Set your workspace signup mode

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. Select Settings & administration from the menu, then click Workspace settings.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Next to Joining This Workspace, click Expand.
  5. Choose how people can join your workspace. If you select Allow invitations, and approve invitations for any email address from these domains, add approved email domains in the text box.
  6. Click Save. Anyone with an approved email address can join by clicking your workspace's signup link.

Tip: If a member of your workspace requests an invitation for someone with an email address on an approved domain, the request will be approved automatically.
