Rebuild a workflow that started with a shortcut trigger
When we launched the new version of Workflow Builder, we replaced the shortcut trigger with the option to Start from a link in Slack. With this new trigger, you can share a workflow link in any Slack conversation to display a button that will start the workflow when clicked.
Replicate a workflow shortcut
If you find you're missing the option to start a workflow from the shortcuts menu, you can add the link to a workflow to your channel's bookmarks bar. To learn how, follow the steps below:
Build a workflow that starts from a link in Slack. Select the Starts from a link in Slack trigger, add your steps, then click Finish Up and follow the prompts to publish your workflow.
Copy the workflow link. Once your workflow is published, click Copy link. To copy the link for an existing workflow, hover over More in your sidebar, then select Automations. Find and select the workflow in the list, then click Copy workflow link.
Add the link to the workflows tab in the conversation header. Open a channel or DM, then click the Workflows tab in the conversation header, and select Add Workflow. If you don’t see the Workflows tab, click the plus button to find it.
Your workflow will appear in the conversation header, and anyone can hover over the Workflows tab to find and start the workflow.
Restrict workflow use to members of a channel
You can adjust the access permissions on a workflow so that it can only be used by members of a channel you specify.
From your desktop, hover over More in the sidebar, then click Automations.
Click Managed by you.
Click the pencil icon next to the workflow you'd like to edit.
Click the three dots icon in the top-right corner of Workflow Builder, then select Settings.
Click Edit.
Open the dropdown menu below Who can find and use this workflow?
Select Specific people, channels, and workspaces, then search for and select the channel. To ensure external people have permission to use your workflow, check the box next to Also include connected, external organizations to find and run.
