Review flagged content on Enterprise Grid
Members of your Enterprise Grid organization can flag messages for admins to review. Org Owners and Content Admins can view the details of the flagged content, decide how to manage it, and view a historical record of flagged content from the admin dashboard.
Note: By default, Org Owners can view and manage flagged content. If you’d like, you can assign members of your org to the Content Admin role.
Manage flagged content settings
Enable or disable flagged content
For Enterprise Grid organizations using Enterprise Key Management (EKM), flagged content is automatically enabled and cannot be disabled. If your Enterprise Grid organization doesn’t use EKM, you can enable or disable this feature.
- From your desktop, click your organization name in the sidebar.
- Hover over Tools & settings, then click Organization settings.
- From the left sidebar, select Settings, then click Organization settings.
- Next to Flagged content review, click Edit.
- Check or uncheck the box next to Enable members to flag content for review, then check or uncheck the boxes next to the additional settings you’d like to configure.
- Click Save.
Manage additional settings
You can choose to enable or disable the following options when flagged content is turned on:
-
Include a link to my organization’s policy or other resource
When you add a link to a policy, members who flag a message in Slack can optionally review your organization’s policies before submitting the message for review. -
Require Content Admins to add a note when hiding or dismissing a flagged message
Notes will appear in the History tab alongside the decision, and can only be viewed by Org Owners and Content Admins. -
Alert certain Content Admins when messages are flagged
The Content Admins you specify will receive a notification from Slackbot when a message is flagged for review. -
Notify the member who flagged a message when a Content Admin hides the message or dismisses the flag
The member who flagged the message will receive a notification from Slackbot when their submission is reviewed. -
Notify the message author when a Content Admin hides the message
The member who wrote the message that was flagged will receive a notification from Slackbot if their message is hidden.
Tip: When including a link to a policy, make sure your members have permission to view the content. You can link to a canvas that includes your organization's policies or related information so members can review your policies without leaving Slack.
Review flagged content
From the admin dashboard, you can view details about the content your members have flagged and decide if you’d like to dismiss the report or hide the content from your org. You can also assign flagged content to Org Owners or Content Admins to review, and leave comments on flagged content for other reviewers.

- From your desktop, click your organization name in the sidebar.
- Hover over Tools & settings, then click Organization settings.
- From the left sidebar, select Security, then click Flagged content.
- Click the message preview in the Content column to view details of the flagged content, then click Manage in the top-right corner.
