Manage Slack AI settings

Who can use this feature?

Slack AI is a paid add-on that allows members of your organization to summarize conversations, get answers to questions, and more using a set of generative AI tools built right into Slack. Once you purchase Slack AI, you can manage access to individual features included with the add-on or set bulk permissions.

Don't have Slack AI yet? Purchase it for your organization or contact our Sales team to learn more.

Slack AI features

Owners and admins can manage access to the following Slack AI features:

  • Send feedback to Slack
When your members use Slack AI, they can rate responses in order to improve the experience. You can choose to limit your members’ ability to provide detailed feedback (but please note that it’s not possible to restrict sharing basic feedback).
  • Channel and thread summaries
Choose whether members can summarize unread messages in any conversation.
  • Huddle notes
Decide whether members can use AI to take notes during huddles in channels and direct messages (DMs).
  • Recap
Enable or disable daily recaps, automated summaries of channels your members select.
  • File summaries
Slack AI will summarize certain files when they’re shared in conversations.
  • Search answers and files in AI search
Allow members to use AI search to ask questions and get answers with citations. Plus, decide whether search answers reference files shared in Slack.
  • Translations
Choose whether people can automatically translate messages in Slack.
  • Workflow Builder
Decide whether your members can use Slack AI to create workflows.

Tip: If you’re on Enterprise Grid, enable enterprise search so your members can find information and content from other sources (like Google Drive, GitHub, and more) right in Slack.
