Add more people to a group direct message Group direct messages (DMs) are conversations between three or more people, outside of channels. To loop in other people, you can add them to a group DM. Adding someone new will start a new DM without the previous conversation’s history.
Desktop
Mobile
From your desktop, open a group DM.
Click the cluster of profile pictures in the top right corner.
Click Add people to this group DM .
Start typing the name of the person you’d like to add, then select them from the list.
Click Go to create a new DM.
From a group DM, tap the details icon in the top right.
Tap Add people .
Tap the boxes next to the people you'd like to add.
Tap Add to create a new DM.
Tip: If you need to add more than nine people, or to preserve a conversation's message history, you can move a group DM to a private channel instead.
