Use Slack AI to take huddle notes

We take our commitment to protecting customer data seriously. Learn how we built Slack to be secure and private.

With Slack AI, you can automatically take notes during a huddle so your team can focus on the conversation. When you turn on AI notes, Slack AI will use your real-time conversation and messages shared in the huddle thread to capture key takeaways, generate action items, and more. When your huddle ends, notes will be organized into a canvas and shared to the huddle thread.

How it works

  • Slack AI huddle notes never start without permission. Someone in the huddle must manually turn them on by selecting the   AI notes icon.
  • Everyone in the huddle will be notified that AI notes are in progress. Anyone can stop, resume, or cancel AI huddle notes at any time.
  • After the huddle, your Slack AI-generated notes (including a list of people in the huddle, topics discussed, action items, and more) will be shared in a canvas in the huddle thread.

Note: Slack AI can’t take notes in huddles with external people.

FAQs

How do I know if Slack AI is taking notes in my huddle?

You’ll be notified when someone in your huddle turns on AI notes. A banner will continue to display until the huddle ends or someone stops or cancels AI notes. AI will never take notes in a huddle without someone in the huddle turning them on.

Who can view AI huddle notes and transcripts?

Anyone in the channel or direct message (DM) where the huddle took place can view the AI notes canvas. Canvases with AI notes can be shared to other conversations just like any Slack canvas. Transcripts are embedded in the notes canvas and viewable by anyone with access to the canvas, but they won't show up in search results.

Can I edit AI notes?

Yes. Once your AI notes canvas is generated, you can review it for accuracy and edit it to suit your needs.

Can I use AI huddle notes on the Slack mobile apps?

Yes. AI notes are supported on both iOS and Android.

What languages are huddle notes available in?
