Accept an invitation to share a channel

With Slack Connect, you can share a channel with external organizations, allowing you to work together from your separate workspaces. If another organization has invited you to share a channel, keep reading for details on accepting the invitation.

What to expect

  • Someone from the organization that owns the channel will send you an invitation to share it. If multiple people from your organization receive an invitation for the same channel, only one person needs to accept it.
  • Invitations expire after seven days. If yours expires before it’s accepted or approved, ask someone from the organization that owns the channel to send you another invitation.

Note: To accept an invitation, your organization must be using one of Slack’s paid plans. If you're using the free version of Slack, you can upgrade your workspace, or choose to start a free trial when you receive an invitation.
