Accept an invitation to join another company's channel

Slack Connect lets you work with people from outside your company. By working together in channels, you can collaborate from your separate workspaces. If someone from another company has invited you to join a channel, keep reading to learn how to accept the invitation.

What to expect

  • Your invitation will expire after 14 days. If it does expire, someone from the other company can send you a new one.
  • If multiple people from your company receive an invitation for the same channel, only one person needs to accept it.
  • To accept an invitation, your workspace must be using a paid Slack plan. If applicable, you can upgrade your workspace or choose to start a free trial when you receive an invitation.

Note: Owners and admins can restrict who can accept invitations. If you’re unable to accept one, find an owner or admin and ask for help.
