Request to export additional data from your workspace or Enterprise Grid org

With Slack, owners and admins can export data from public channels in their workspace or Enterprise Grid organization. Workspace Owners on the Business+ plan and Org Owners on the Enterprise Grid plan can apply to export additional data as needed and permitted by law.

Workspace Owners can apply to export data from all channels and conversations and to export a channel audit report.

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the sidebar.
  2. Select Tools & settings from the menu, then click Workspace settings.
  3. Click Import/Export Data in the top right.
  4. Click the Export tab.
  5. Click the submit an application link to open the application form and select the export type you'd like to request access to.

Applications require approval from the Workspace Primary Owner, which is provided when the Primary Owner submits the application. If your application is submitted by a Workspace Owner, our Support team will reach out via email to request approval before proceeding with the application review. 

Request to export data from all channels and conversations

Org Owners can contact our Support team to request to export data from all channels and conversations in their org. This type of export includes content from public channels, private channels, and DMs.

Request to export data for a single user

Org Owners can contact our Support team to request to export data for a single user in their org, including all the messages and files sent by that user in any conversation they’ve been a part of.

Request to export a channel audit report

Org Owners can contact our Support team to request to export a list of channels and their details for migration planning or other workspace management needs. 

Note: Once an application is submitted, It may take a few business days to receive an update from our Support team.
