Add people to a channel

Slack organises conversations into dedicated spaces called channels. Channels bring the right people and information in your workspace together in one place. Keep reading to learn how to add people from your workspace to a channel (for people outside your company, learn how to use Slack Connect to invite them to a channel).

Tip: On the Business+ and Enterprise Grid subscriptions, owners and admins with permission can add people to channels with channel management tools.

Add people to a channel

You can add up to 1,000 people to a channel at once either by name, email address or user group (available only for paid subscriptions). For large groups of people, we recommend creating a list of full names or email addresses that you can copy and paste into Slack.
