Schedule messages to send later

When you have an important message to share in Slack but it's not the best time to send it quite yet, you can schedule it. Select a date and time in the future and rest assured your message will be sent whether you're at your desk or on the go.

Schedule a message

  1. Click the  compose button or open the conversation where you'd like to send your message.
  2. Type your message in the message field.
  3. Click the  arrow icon to the right of the  paper plane icon.
  4. Choose a date and time from the list or select Custom time to set your own.

View, edit, and manage scheduled messages

You can view, edit, and manage your scheduled messages any time before they’re sent. Here are your options:

  •  Edit message
  •  Reschedule message
  •  Send message
  •  Cancel schedule and save to drafts
  •  Delete message

  1. Click  Scheduled at the top of your left sidebar to see all your scheduled messages.
  2. Hover over a message and select an icon in the top-right corner to take an action.
