You can pin important messages to any conversation for easy reference. Pinned items are visible in the Details section and are accessible to all members of a channel or direct message.
How pinning works
Pin messages to add them to a conversation's Pinned section.
Pin files by pinning the original message the file was shared in.
Click the pin icon to view all pinned items in a channel or direct message.
Pin an item
Messages will appear highlighted in a conversation to let other members know they’ve been pinned. To pin a message, use the steps below:

Hover over the message you'd like to pin.
Click the three dots icon.
Select Pin to channel,or Pinto this conversation in a direct message.
Tap and hold the message or file you'd like to pin.
Tap Pin Message.
Tap and hold the message or file you'd like to pin.
Tap Pin to conversation.
Note: A maximum of 100 messages can be pinned to a channel or direct message at a time.
View pinned items

From a conversation, click the details icon in the top right.
In the conversation details, click Pinned.
Tip: You can also click the pin icon at the top of a channel or direct message to quickly open pinned items.
From a channel or direct message, tap Details in the top right.
Tap Pinned.
From a channel or direct message, tap Details in the top right.
View any pinned messages and files below Pinned items.
Remove a pinned item

From a channel or direct message, click the details icon in the top right.
Click Pinned.
Next to the message you'd like to un-pin, click the close icon.
Click Remove pinned item to confirm.
From a channel or direct message, tap Details in the top right.
Tap Pinned.
Tap and hold the item you’d like to remove.
Tap Unpin from Conversation.
From a channel or direct message, tap Details in the top right.
Scroll down to Pinned items.
Tap and hold the item you'd like to remove.
Tap Remove.
Note: If you remove items that were pinned by other members, they'll receive a Slackbot message to let them know.
