Delete files from Slack

When they're no longer needed, you can delete files from Slack.

  • Members and guests can delete files they've uploaded.
  • Workspace Owners and Admins can delete files that have been added to public channels and to private channels they’ve joined.
  • Files are deleted individually, not in bulk.

Note: While there is no bulk delete option for files, we offer API methods to help you manage your workspace data.

Tip: If you're hitting a file storage limit, read more about file storage limits on the free version of Slack. Please note that it may take up to 48 hours for storage space to become available once files are deleted.
